Fulfillment of the Nile Day
15 Aug 2012 - 16 Aug 2012
Place: the Banks of the Nile River
This celebration dates back 7000 years to the Ancient Egyptian times, and involved the throwing a bride into the Nile River. They considered the Nile to be the source of life and prosperity in Egypt, and the beautiful bride was the symbol of its fulfillment. Even today, Egyptians continue to celebrate this day on the banks of the Nile River in the second half of August.
